A total of 89 flight cancellations have been reported across six European airlines, disrupting services at multiple major hubs and on long-haul corridors. The affected carriers are British Airways, Air France, SWISS, Norwegian Air Sweden, Finnair, and Iberia.

By airline, British Airways accounts for 40 cancellations, largely on long-haul services linking London Heathrow with Middle East destinations including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Amman, and Tel Aviv. Additional British Airways cancellations include services from London Gatwick to Islamabad and Cancun. Air France has canceled 24 flights from Paris Charles de Gaulle on routes to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Beirut, Lagos, Toronto, and Mexico, with the Paris–Dubai and Paris–Tel Aviv links experiencing multiple consecutive days of disruption.

SWISS reports seven cancellations, mainly between Zurich and Dubai as well as Tel Aviv, also recurring across two days. Norwegian Air Sweden has canceled seven flights affecting routes between Stockholm, Oslo, Aalborg, Madeira, and Dubai World Central. Finnair has canceled six flights connecting Helsinki with Gothenburg, Hamburg, and Keflavik, covering both outbound and return legs. Iberia has five cancellations focused on Madrid–Doha services and a London–Madrid sector.

Key airports with notable disruption include London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Dubai International, Zurich, Helsinki, and Madrid-Barajas, with London Gatwick and Dubai World Central also affected. The Europe–Middle East corridor shows the most persistent cancellations, particularly to the UAE, Qatar, Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon. Long-haul capacity is reduced on multiple aircraft types, including Boeing 777 and 787, and Airbus A330, A350, and A380.

Passengers are advised to check flight status via airline websites or apps, contact carriers for rebooking or refunds, keep receipts for potential compensation or reimbursement, monitor airline communications for schedule changes, and review travel insurance coverage as applicable.

Know your rights

These are your air passenger rights:

When your flight's disrupted, you have rights. Most passenger protection laws cover the following:

Rerouting or refund
If your flight is canceled, your airline must provide an alternative. Some laws say you can choose a full refund instead.

Food and essential care
Providing food and drinks is a basic right under many regulations. Typically after a delay of a few hours.

Accommodation
Some passenger rights say the airline must provide accommodation when your journey is delayed overnight.

Compensation
Good passenger rights ensure passengers get fairly compensated for delays and cancellations. Try our compensation check and find out how much money we can get you.

This advice is provided to help you if your flight is delayed or canceled. However, the exact care and compensation you are entitled to will depend on your specific circumstances and flight. Always follow the directions of your airline, particularly with regard to check-in and boarding times.
