For passengers, this meant an abrupt change of plans. With no replacement crew available locally, the airline called off the 16-hour service and up to 336 passengers were left stranded in Bridgetown while alternative travel was arranged.
The crew had been staying at an all-inclusive resort ahead of the flight. Guests reported a disturbance at the bar, with at least two employees becoming visibly unwell and needing help back to their rooms. Video of the incident later circulated among resort guests, who identified the people involved as British Airways staff.
